Adrian Crosier was inducted as President of the Rotary Club of Port Fairy at the Club's Changeover Dinner at the Star of the West Hotel held on 4th July 2016.

Adrian takes over from out-going president, Michael Crowe, who presented the Annual Report to 75 members and guests at the Dinner.

Adrian joined the Rotary Club in December 2010 and has been one of the Club's most active members.  Apart from his many other volunteer roles in Port Fairy (PF Football/Netball Club, Winter Weekends Committee, Port Fairy Tourism) and his position as administrator of Belfast Aquatics, Adrian has found time to put in a good deal of work for the Rotary Club on many fronts and looks forward to building on this during his year as Rotary President.

Adrian (pictured below with wife, Helen) will be ably assisted by new Board members who were also introduced to the members and guests at the Dinner.  These are -

Secretary - Peter Smith
Treasurer - Jeff McLean
President Elect - Bill Moore
Immediate Past President - Michael Crowe
Director (Service Projects) - Bernie Waixel
Director (Youth, PR) - Jill Gleeson

In his speech following the induction ceremony conducted by Past District Governor for District 9780, Jane Cox, Adrian spoke of his enthusiasm for the tasks at hand for the next 12 months.  He was pleased to be taking over the Presidency at a time when there was much vibrancy in the Club due to the good work of outgoing President, Michael Crowe and Michael's predecessor, John Clue.

Adrian's preferred charity for 2016/17 is the Bandari Project which aims to improve school facilities in the Tanzanian town of Mto Wambu which has already received good support by the Rotary Club and the Port Fairy community at large over the past few years.  He was also pleased that the Club will be sponsoring for the first time an out-going Rotary Youth Exchange Program student in Lisa van Someren (pictured with John Clue below)  who will leave for 12 months in Canada in January 2017.  He was pleased to announce that the proceeds of a raffle conducted at the Changeover Dinner will go to help defray some of Lisa's costs in her trip to Canada and thanked Youth Director, John Clue, for his hard work in looking after the Exchange Program for the Club.

After receiving his chain of office, Adrian was upstaged by wife, Helen, who donned her "tiara" and jokingly announced herself as the new "first lady" of the Rotary Club!

Special guests present at the Dinner were the local member for South West Coast, Roma Britnell, MLC for Western Victoria, James Purcell, Mayor, Cr. Colin Ryan (Moyne Shire Council), Cr. Ralph Leutton (who was also present in his role as President of Moyne Health Services), Past District Governor, Jane Cox and ADG Janey Preston.  The Club was also pleased to have representatives present from neighbouring Rotary clubs as well as members of the Port Fairy-Belfast Lions Club.  Other prominent identities from Port Fairy helped make the night a special event to mark Adrian's induction as President.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a $7,500 cheque by out-going President, Michael Crowe, to the President of Moyne Health Services, Ralph Leutton.  The monies raised, during Michael's term as President, will be used to purchase special equipment for the Port Fairy Hospital's refurbishment program.  A special moment in the evening was the celebration and birthday cake for the Club's oldest member, Col Martin, who turned 102 on 30th June.
