The Rotary Club of Port Fairy participated in Preserve Planet Earth Day last Saturday 22 April 2017 by collecting rubbish from a 5 kilometre section of East Beach. The clean up took 2 hours to complete and collected around 200 litres of rubbish. The participants split into 2 crews, one starting on the beach near the at the mouth of the river and the other went out to the Golf Course. In general the beach was found to be fairly clean but the Members involved were pleased with their effort and felt that it was a worthwhile project to recognise such an important day.
