Past President, and current director of Youth Affairs for the Rotary Club, John Clue, was proud to announce that the Club's nominee for the 2107 Rotary Youth Exchange Program, Lisa van Someren, was selected by the District 9780 Exchange Committee to be part of the 2107 program.

Following informal interviews held in Hall Gap in May and more intensive interviews held on 4th June in Ballarat, John was pleased to receive news that Lisa was successful in her bid to join the program and will now leave for Canada in January 2017.

Lisa and her family - father Danny, mother Sharon and sister Ami - all attended the Rotary Club's Dinner meeting on 6th June where John Clue outlined the extensive process that Lisa and the Club has had to follow in order for Lisa to be selected for the 12-month Exchange Program.

This is the first time that Port Fairy Rotary has sponsored an exchange student so it has been a steep learning curve for John and the Club.

Lisa gave a brief address to the 30+ Club members and friends present on the night and thanked all present for their support.  She hoped she will do the Club proud.  John Clue concluded that he hoped the club would further get behind Lisa by way of assistance on fundraising to help defray the considerable cost of attending the Exchange program and living overseas for 12 months.
