The Rotary Club of Port Fairy was pleased to induct its newest member, Jed Macartney, to the Club at its members meeting on 1st August 2022.
Jed Macartney was formally welcomed into the Rotary Club with an induction ceremony held on Monday 1st August 2022.
Sponsored by Rotarian, Andrew Long, Jed was inducted by President Graeme Cox in front of of members and friends.
A relative newcomer to Port Fairy, Jed is semi-retired (he plans to open a bicycle repair facility at his home), was looking forward to being able to contribute to the local community through Rotary. His father was a Rotarian and had a strong sense of community and it is something that Jed wants to continue.
Although now retired from the Australian Air Force - which he relates was its own is a form of community - the opportunity to serve in the general community in Port Fairy was part of his attraction to join our Club.
