At a dinner meeting this week Tony Bawden was installed as the President of the Port Fairy Rotary Club for the 2020/21 year. Attendance was limited to 20 because of the COVID 19 rules, nevertheless Tony's elevation was enthusiastically supported. Tony was inducted by District Governor Philip Beasley, who was accompanied by his partner Judy.
The meeting was streamed live, enabling members of Tony's family and other members and friends to follow proceedings.

Addressing the meeting President Tony outlined his priorities for the coming Rotary year. These included:
- The development of a short & longer term strategic plan for the Club. This would embrace local Rotary and community issues as well broader regional and international Rotary priorities.
- Working with other service partners like Moyne Shire, Moyne Health, Community House, Lions and Festival Committees, our Friends of Rotary group, and neighbouring Group 5 Rotary Clubs in the District.
- Tackling the challenge of Membership stability and growth by supporting our members and their interests as reflected in the Rotary International 20/21 theme of ‘Rotary Opens Opportunities’.
- Examining the proposal for a Rotary Centennial Clock for Port Fairy as part of Rotary's Centennial celebrations.
