The Rotary Club of Port Fairy welcomed a new member on 6th August when Michael Crowe was inducted into the Club by President, Margaret Whitehead.

Michael's membership was sponsored by Rotarian Jim Delaney whose friendship with Michael extends back to school and university days.

Originally growing up in Rosebrook, Michael Crowe worked in the State Government from 1975 to 2000 before returning to Port Fairy.  As a qualified engineer, specialising in biodiversity, his Rotary classification of Environmental Consultant will be invaluable to many of the projects undertaken by the Rotary Club in Port Fairy.

His sporting prowess was mainly in running having competed in 10 marathons, including the New York marathon, but Michael also boasts playing football for Port Fairy in days past.  In his spare time, Michael enjoys reading history.

Michael and his wife, Michele, were welcomed into the club by a large gathering of 33 Rotarians and guests who attended the Dinner Meeting at the Star of the West hotel on Monday evening.
