Rotarians and friends

Our Christmas New Year break is upon us, with only our BBQ at the Cricket Club to complete the year.  I look forward to catching up with as many Rotarians and friends at he BBQ in 10th December.

As the months ahead are our busy time for fund raising, I ask you all to check on ClubRunner and see how you can help with the raffle rosters during January.

On Wednesday 5th December I attended the lunchtime meeting of the Rotary Club of Warrnambool Central where they presented Port Fairy with a cheque of $1000 to assist with the expense of sending Emily Crowe to the National Youth Science Forum in Perth during January.  Thank you very much Warrnambool Central for your generosity. We look forward to hearing of Emily’s experience on her return.

In the Rotary Calendar December is Family Month which is appropriate as we catch up with family over the Christmas New Year celebrations.  Also give some thought to people who are missing family at this time of the year (through separation or bereavement) and in some way make this time easier for them.

January  is Rotary Awareness Month, so I urge you at every opportunity to spread the word of Rotary’s work in the community and how it is “doing good” around the world.

I thank all Rotarians and their partners who have helped during the year with functions, rosters and working bees.  May you all have a Happy Christmas with family and friends and be invigorated for the New Year ahead.

Cheers
Margaret Whitehead
