At the invitation of the Port Fairy - Belfast Lions Club, members of the Rotary Club of Port Fairy attended the Lions Club meeting held in the Port Fairy Senior Citizens facility on 18th January 2023. The event was catered by the Lions Club who turned on a wonderful spread for the evening.

It was an enjoyable opportunity for both Lions and Rotarians to come together given our common goals of supporting the community.  In all, 12 Rotarians and 3 partners joined some 40 Lions and guests for the event.

At the meeting, the Lions Club welcomed a new member, Peter Malseed, to their ranks and all Rotarians enjoyed the induction ceremony delivered by long-standing Lion, Bruce Lowenthal from the neighbouring Koroit Lions Club.  Bruce is well known to most of the Rotarians present as he lives in Port Fairy and runs a local business.

The evening gave all present  a chance to mix in a relaxed atmosphere.  Rotarian, Adrian Crosier, was the lucky winner of the raffle held on the evening

In a brief address to the meeting, Rotary Club President, Graeme Cox, thanked the Lions President, Neil Hedger, and all Lions members for their hospitality and declared that it should be a permanent entry on our respective club calendars.  Rotary will therefore look forward to reciprocating the invitation in Rotary year 2023/24.
