The Rotary Club of Port Fairy inducts John Ellard as new President for 2026-27
The Club held a very enjoyable evening for its Changeover Dinner at Charlie's on East in Port Fairy. At the dinner meeting, John Ellard was inducted as the new President taking over the reins from out-going President, Graeme Cox.
The Club was also pleased to award a Paul Harris Fellowship to Diane Walker in recognition of all she does as a great volunteer for the club.
Before the induction ceremony, Rotarian Bill Moore, provided an acknowledgement of Graeme's outstanding year as President, by emphasising the stability that Graeme's leadership had brought to the Club in 25-26 Rotary year.
44 people attended the dinner where some special awards were made on the evening. Acting Secretary, Jo Levey, was presented with an Appreciation Certificate for her outstanding role of taking over the role mid-term after the departure of former Secretary, Tony Murray.
A very special award was made to former Rotarian Diane Walker who is now a key part of the "Friends of Rotary" group. Diane received a Paul Harris Fellowship award in recognition of her contribution to the club in terms of her volunteering, donations and her organisation of special events by the Friends group. Acting Secretary, Jo Levey, was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation in acknowledgement of the work she has done since stepping into the secretarial role.
The new Board members for the Club were introduced by new President, John who presented them with their 2026-27 badges. In accepting the role as President for 26-27, John Ellard spoke warmly about the strengths of the Club that was built on its members.
